32nd LEIM Conference

2008 LEIM Section Annual Conference - Draft Agenda Available (Updated April 18, 2008)
The IACP's Law Enforcement Information Management (LEIM) Section, will hold its 32nd Annual Conference at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN, May 6-10, 2008. Proposed topics to be discussed include: System Integration, Strategic Planning, Mobile Computing, Terrorism and Technology, and IT Standards. Conference presentations

The IACP Law Enforcement Information Management (LEIM) Section, in conjunction with the Royal Bahamas Police Force held it's second annual international conference. The focus of the conference was to enhance law enforcement's efficiency and effectiveness with technology. Panels of subject matter experts from around the region and world shared best practices and lessons learned in the application of technology to fight crime and improve department efficiency. LEIM Section Chair
Eddie ReyesCaptain Eddie Reyes of the Alexandria (VA) Police Department is the current LEIM Section Chair. Captain Reyes, is the Arlandria Area Commander in Alexandria. Captain Reyes has commanded the Emergency Communications Section of the Alexandria PD and has served as Chair of the Metro Washington Council of Governments Police Technology Subcommittee, which focuses on regional technology issues impacting law enforcement, and the Virginia State Interoperability Executive Committee. Captain Reyes also sits on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s SAFECOM Advisory Working Group.

Greg BrowningThe IACP LEIM Section welcomes Chief Greg Browning, Juneau, Alaska Police Department as its newest member to the LEIM Section Executive Board. Chief Greg Browning moved to Juneau, Alaska in 2000 after a 21-year career with the Amarillo, Texas Police Department. Chief Browning is a founding member of the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center - NW (NLECTC-NW) Regional Advisory Council, and currently serves as chairman of the Alaska Law Enforcement Information Sharing System (ALEISS) consortium.

Chief Constable Jim Chu of the Vancouver, British Columbia Police Department is the immediate past Chair.

4th Annual IACP-iXP Excellence in Technology Award Program Winners Announced
The IACP-iXP Excellence in Technology Award Program was created to recognize a lawIACP and iXP logos enforcement agency's superior achievement and innovation in the field of information technology. Click here to view this year's award winners. This program is an international competition that is open to local, tribal, state, provincial, federal, and multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies.
