Department of Homeland Security Releases REAL ID Grant Application Guidance
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released grant guidance and application kits for states in preparation for REAL ID implementation. REAL ID addresses a core 9/11 Commission finding to enhance the security, integrity, and protection of licensing and identification systems nationwide and was mandated by the U.S. Congress.
GMS On-line Training Tool
The Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs has released a Grants Management System (GMS) On-line Training Tool to assist grantees in administering their awards through the GMS. This On-line Training Tool provides step-by-step instructions to complete various functions within GMS, as well as the administrative policies associated with Grant Adjustment Notices, Progress Reporting, and Closeouts.

Public Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) Grants from the Department of Commerce is available to assist state and local first responders improve public safety communications during a natural or manmade disaster for all fifty states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Territories.


The IACP Law Enforcement Information Management Section (LEIM) brings together law enforcement
practitioners to improve and facilitate the exchange of information and system interoperability
within and across jurisdictional boundaries. LEIM key stakeholders include police chiefs, law enforcement
executives, and technologists.
